Short Question - Short Answer

Here's today's short question: "Will your books become available as audiobooks in the future?"

My answer: I hope so, yes!

Currently there aren't any specific plans for the first six books to come out in audio. We have a variety of thoughts and ideas on that subject bouncing around at Rooglewood Press, and my agent has looked into various audiobook companies as well.  I do believe audiobooks of the novels will happen at some point.

But I can tell you that Goddess Tithe will in fact be releasing in audiobook format sometime in the very near future! We have a wonderful narrator, Stephen John Rees, producing it. He'll be including short musical interludes and his own performance of the "Where Did the Songbird Go" lullaby.

It's going to be gorgeous, and I am so excited to launch into the audiobook world with this project!

Are you readers all audiobook enthusiasts? Back when I was pursuing my artistic career, I used to listen to audiobooks while painting portraits. I listened to the first three of the Series of Unfortunate Events as narrated by Tim Curry while portrait-painting, and they were delightfully depressing. Rohan and I will often grab audiobooks for long car rides too. We listened to the audiobook recording of The Graveyard Book while on an road-trip, and I think I loved it even more than the book itself (which I had purchased in hardbound as soon as it released)! The other audiobook I most enjoyed was The Spook's Apprentice: Curse of the Bane, which was, as the title suggests, frightfully spooky! An excellent audio-recording.

I ADORE audio books... although I don't listen to them as much as I should. I like to put them on when I'm practicing ballet. It's so cool that Goddess Tithe will be an audiobook! I can't wait to hear the lullaby. : )

I love audio books, though that's mostly because I can listen to them when I'm doing other things. And I'm so excited for the Goddess Tithe audiobook! That's awesome! :D

EEEEK! So, so excited that Goddess Tithe will be available in an audio format! Thank you, thank you!

Yes, I love audiobooks. Although I prefer Braille as a general rule, it can still be a limited medium in regards to books' availability. Often, I long to read an author's work and cannot due to this problem. So, if a company produces that author's work in audio, I'll definitely purchase them. And, I love The Graveyard Book! Neil Gaiman reads phenomenally well. He also read Coraline, which was good, too.

God bless you.

This is spectacular!!! I don't know why, but I'm a bit of an audio book nut. I loved listening to Neil Gaimen read "The Graveyard Book". And, if you're ever having auditions for a narrator for the other books... ; )

I know you're a Doctor Who fan, so have you ever heard of Big Finish? It's an audio drama company that has produced original stories with Doctors 4-8 (1-3 died before the company was founded) and most of the Classic companies. You should try some....ask me for suggestions.

I think I asked that question, I can't wait for Goldstone wood audio books! I have all but 2 of the series of Unfortunate Events but I've never heard them as audiobooks. Steven Briggs and Tony Robinson do a good job of reading the Terry Pratchett's, I really like T Rob's voice for Vimes.

I must admit, I've listened to very few audiobooks. The most recent one would be The Magician's Nephew, I believe. It was enjoyable, and I liked the narrator's voice. But whoever they cast for Aslan left something to be desired, IMO. Maybe it's just because I'm used to Liam Neeson's voice in the movies.
Anyway, if done well, audiobooks can be delightful! I also enjoy radio drama. Never too old for Adventures in Odyssey! ;)

To Ghostwriter: Big Finish Productions are fantastic! Have you heard their version of The Phantom of the Opera? It's one of the best adaptations of the original Gaston Leroux novel and far superior to any movie version.

And, I love Adventures in Odyssey and the Narnia dramatizations done by Focus on the Family. Focus on the Family does a superb job with radio theater. It would be so neat to hear them take on a Goldstone Wood book!

Eeek! I can't wait until the rest of the series comes out on audiobook! And whenever they do, I've no doubt that my grandmother is going to be absolutely thrilled! She doesn't just sit down and read, so the only way that I could get her into the Tales of Goldstone Wood was to read them to her. So for the past few times that I've visited her, I've been reading them too her.... Then we re-started the series. :P So whenever they come out she can listen to them for as long and often as she pleases!

I agree, the Narnia audiobooks are pretty good, I liked the horse and his boy best.

We listen to audiobooks quite a bit in the car. I like them as a rule, but there have been one or two whose narrators I just couldn't get past ...!

An audio book of Starflower would have been great to have on hand a minute ago! I was in the middle of a chapter when I had to stop and make cookies (and a few other things.)
I love audio books (Focus on the Family, mostly) and listen to them when I'm doing something else: painting, knitting, holding the bird, folding the clothes...

And I do have to say that hearing some of the names of the places and people of Goldstone pronounced would be nice. Oh, and the music! Can't forget that. :)

I concur with Meredith: hearing Focus on the Family doing Goldstone Wood...my fan girl within is squealing with joy. :)
(Hmm...who, of the Focus on the Family cast, would be the best voice for Eanrin? I imagine him with some kind of British accent...)

So, yeah: when Goldstone Wood comes out on audio, I am going to buy it.
Good luck, Mrs. Stengl!
God bless,
