The
highly anticipated book, Dragonwitch by Anne Elisabeth
Stengl, is NOW AVAILABLE!!!
Paperback, 432 pages
Published July 1, 2013 by Bethany House Publishers
Submissive to her father’s will, Lady Leta of Aiven travels far
to meet a prospective husband she neither knows nor loves–Lord Alistair, future
king of the North Country.
But within the walls of Gaheris Castle, all is not right. Vicious night terrors plague Lord Alistair to the brink of insanity. Whispers rise from the family crypt. The reclusive castle Chronicler, Leta’s tutor and friend, possesses a secret so dangerous it could cost his life and topple the North Country into civil war.
And far away in a hidden kingdom, a fire burns atop the Temple of the Sacred Flame. Acolytes and priestesses serve their goddess to the limits of their lives and deaths. No one is safe while the Dragonwitch searches for the sword that slew her twice…and for the one person who can wield it.
Anne Elisabeth
Stengl makes her home in Raleigh,
North Carolina, where she lives with her husband, Rohan, a passel of cats, and
one long-suffering dog. When she's not writing, she enjoys Shakespeare, opera,
and tea, and studies piano, painting, and pastry baking. She studied
illustration at Grace College and English literature at Campbell University.
She is the author of HEARTLESS, VEILED ROSE, MOONBLOOD, and STARFLOWER, with
DRAGONWITCH due to release in 2013. HEARTLESS and VEILED ROSE have each been
honored with a Christy Award.

Haha, first comment!
I've been on my library's waiting list for Dragonwitch for months. I can't wait for it to come in!
Woo Hoo!!! Dragonwitch was completely AWESOME, and I can't wait for everyone to read it!!!
*happy dance* Dragonwitch is amazing and this tour is gonna be SO MUCH FUN.
Where can I get a copy of Dragonwitch? It's not coming out on Amazon until next month!
I can't wait to read Dragonwitch!!!
Yay! As everyone else said, I can't wait.
Hannah, while I'm leaving this comment, I have to ask, where did your blog go? I tried to get there, but a message pops up that it has been removed.
I just got it as an e-book and am almost done! It's amazing; all your plot twists, hidden identities, and tear-worthy backstories make me want to sing while I'm reading!
How long does it take you to write a book? And also, how did you get published with Bethany House Publishers? Thanks!
Oh my lanta! I am really excited about this one!!
Quick question! When exactly is Dragonwitch available for purchase in stores? I would truly love to add it to my collection of Goldstone Wood books! Thanks!
Emily and Megan: The earliest release date I can find is on Barnes & Noble, July 15. Anne, I'm sure will tell you more, but I believe there was a glitch in production that delayed the release. =(
Rebekah: I've seen you over at my blog since then, so I know you know it's working, but yeah, my blog did get removed momentarily for some bizarre reason. I was freaking out, but we were able to get fixed. Phew. You don't want to have your blog vanish the evening before you're part of your first big blog tour.
Anne, which day am I on? I looked it up in the email, but I got a little confused...
Hannah, did you get a link to the raffecopter or something? Would you mind sending it to me so I can finish setting up? :)
Wow! So excited about Dragonwitch! I can't wait to read it!!!!!
I love tours! Especially when I have a cup of tea in my hand!
How long did it take you to think up a name for Shadow Hand?
@Emily Kopf: As Hannah said, there was an unforeseen glitch in the production of the book (and much mad scrambling ensued at my publishing house), so the production date has been put back by a few weeks. I BELIEVE you should be able to order your copy by July 15. And, of course, you can put in your pre-orders as well and will receive your copy as soon as they're in!
I do apologize for the mix-up. :( It made me very sad to realize that all of these release-day shindigs wouldn't ACTUALLY end up being held on the release day. Such is the publishing world, however!
@Anna B.--I usually take approximately 8 months to write a book, coinciding with my deadlines (which are every 9 months). If I'm really on a roll, I like to do it faster than that and have plenty of time to let the manuscript mull around in my brain before sending it off to editors.
But I have written novels much faster than that . . . VEILED ROSE, for instance, was written in two months. Two crazy, madness-filled months! (During which time I was also trying to work three other jobs, battling sickness, becoming engaged, planning a wedding, and moving temporarily to Wisconsin. I survived by God's grace alone!)
As for publishing with Bethany House--I have a friend who used to publish with them, and she gave me a heads-up that they were starting to be interested in fantasy again. So they were the first publishing my agent submitted the manuscript to, and they were also the house to pick it up! It was all God's timing and God's doing, and absolutely through no cleverness of mine. I've been very blessed to have them for my publisher.
@Miss Megan: DRAGONWITCH should be available by the middle of this month! A little later than originally planned, sadly . . . :(
@Molly: The name for the novel was very easy to decide! I had referenced the legend of King Shadow Hand in earlier books, so when I decided to set out and write his story, SHADOW HAND was the obvious choice.
That being said, I did toy around with a few other ideas. I'll probably post a list of them on the SHADOW HAND page eventually . . . :)
I'm really excited to read Dragonwitch and Shadow Hand... and really want to start collecting the Tales of Goldstone Wood to put on my bookshelf! :)
Anne, I thought you once mentioned something about another cover reveal coming soon... so are you working on a seventh Tales of Goldstone Wood book?
Thanks for this giveaway!! :)
-Shantelle
Can't wait to read both of the new books! Guess I'm finally going to have to learn some patience!
