Interrupting Once More . . .

I'm sorry to interrupt my A-Z series yet again. But I thought perhaps you all might prefer a sneak peak at the cover of Starflower.

When a cursed dragon-witch kidnaps lovely Lady Gleamdren, Bard Eanrin sets boldly forth on a rescue mission . . . and a race against his rival for Gleamdren's favor. Intent upon his quest, the last thing the immortal Faerie needs is to become mixed up with the troubles of an insignificant mortal.
But when he stumbles upon a maiden trapped in an enchanted sleep, he cannot leave her alone in the dangerous Wood Between. One waking kiss later, Eanrin suddenly finds his path entangled with that of young Starflower. A strange link exists between this mortal girl and the dragon-witch. Will Starflower prove the key to Lady Gleamdren's rescue? Or will the dark power from which she flees destroy both her and her poet rescuer?

Coming to a book store near you October 2012!

What do you think of it?

Oh, and did I mention that you are amazing? :)

That is gorgeous, Anne Elisabeth. It rivals Heartless as my favorite cover in the Tales of Goldstone Wood. I am eagerly looking forward both to Moonblood (two more months!) and to Starflower.

I love the cover--all your books have such gorgeous cover artwork.

The cover is beautiful. I love it! I can't wait to read Monblood and Starflower. I think Starflower might have the best cover yet. The only problem is there is no dragon.

I like the cover a lot! I'm just so used to seeing the circle theme in the middle of your books, so not seeing one for this book is going to take some getting used to.

Thanks for the comments, everyone! I am super pleased with this cover. It is different from the other three, but it's got some familiarity in the mood. No dragons, but maybe there will be something scary on the back cover . . . We'll have to wait and see! :)

Anne, is it OK to share this cover on our blogs yet?

I totally love this cover! Its really beautiful. Whoever did it for you has amazing talent. The synopsis has me completely hooked! I can't wait for it to be released!

Belatedly, but no less sincerely, I second Abigail Hartman's sentiments. All of your covers are beautiful, Anne Elisabeth. Heartless takes the cake to my palate, but Starflower is rivalling it and threatening its reign of bookcover glory. I too eagerly await the arrival of your next two books.

(It is such a curious and vexing thing, having to wait for books to come out. I am too accustomed to my favourite authors being all long dead and their works being long since published. Now I have to learn patience. Blast.)

@ Jenny: Welcome to the Waiting Club. We've been expecting you! :D

Hehehe, you girls make me laugh. I know what you mean about dead authors though. It's a crying shame they're all so . . . dead. But I have a handful of favorites still alive and writing, though one of my ALL TIME FAVORITES EVER IN THE UNIVERSE just died this last year: the marvelous Diana Wynn Jones. Sad. :(

You might all be pleased to hear that the next several Goldstone Wood stories will be coming out much closer together than HEARTLESS and VEILED ROSE too! I am, after all, quite possibly more impatient to write them than you are to read them . . .

My favourite cover is also Heartless, but I really like this one for Starflower. I see (on the Bethany House website) that the cover of Moonblood has had a tweak too...

Anne Elisabeth Stengl said...

Yes, well, I don't even know what's going on with the Moonblood cover! Will let you all know if that is a permanent tweak or not. Not one I was expecting if it is!

So excited to see you have another book coming out so soon after Moonblood. Can't wait to read them both! Happy Days!!

Neat!
I am reading Heartless right now and am enjoying it sooo much!
