And, though I cannot give away the ending for those of you who haven't read it . . . those of you who HAVE will remember that she left off with a wonderful cliffhanger, primed and ready to continue the adventures of Prince Darcy. I know the moment I read that ending, I wanted to find out what would happen next to that wicked prince and all his evil plans, particularly when his life takes such a turn for the unexpected worse.
Well, my hopes have been satisfied . . . Emma has gone on to tell that continuing adventure, and she will be publishing an e-book version of Darcy's story sometime this summer! Needless to say, I am excited about this. And I was even more excited when Emma hired me to do the cover design for her project.

father the king, then cursed by an angry fairy, Prince Darcy will do anything
to escape this fate and achieve revenge and power. Just when he thinks his
chance has arrived, by some cruel trick of fate a girl from his past returns
and once again wreaks havoc on his life. Worse still, he begins to
question what he truly desires.

YAY!! Broken Glass was one of my favorites of the collection, and I can't wait to read this! The cover looks great! :D

Thanks, everyone! I am excited for Emma and had a lot of fun creating this cover image for her. If you look at the title page of "Broken Glass" in FIVE GLASS SLIPPERS, you'll see that we used the same font . . . so there's a little series consistency.
ReplyDelete@Merenwen Inglorion--The prices for my cover designs vary according to project. And I take VERY few commissions at this stage due to time constraints. Emma's story was a bit of an exception since she's one of our Rooglewood Press authors . . . But I'll let all of you know if I start doing cover design on a larger scale than I do currently!
I was hoping she'd write a sequel! This looks amazing! And I agree with Joy, a paperback version would be great. But if that doesn't happen, I'll have to see about getting my digital hands on the ebook. ;)
ReplyDelete@Mrs. Stengl: I was going to ask a similar question about your cover design work, but you've basically answered it. :) Your artwork and covers are always scrumptious, so I'm keeping you in mind as a future possibility... But I totally understand the time constraints. Do you know of others who do cover art and such? (Just thinking ahead--my own projects aren't quite at this stage yet!)

ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure Emma's plan for paperback is to see how the ebook does and, if it's selling pretty well, offer a paperback later. Which I think is a very smart move on her part! I have no doubt the ebook will sell well, and I fully expect to see the print book in months to come . . . :)
