Shadow Hand Cover Reveal

Dear Goldstone Wood Imps, the time has come to share with you the cover of my sixth novel, Shadow Hand. Behold!

"She Will Take Your Own Two Hands

To Save Your Ancient, Sorrowing Lands"

By her father's wish, Lady Daylily is betrothed to the Prince of Southlands. Not the prince she loves, handsome and dispossessed Lionheart, but his cousin, the awkward and foolish Prince Foxbrush. Unable to bear the future she sees as her wedding day dawns, Daylily flees into the dangerous Wilderlands, her only desire to vanish from living memory.

But Foxbrush, determined to rescue his betrothed, pursues Daylily into a new world of magic and peril, a world where vicious Faerie beasts hold sway, a world invaded by a lethal fey parasite . . .

A world that is hauntingly familiar.

Coming Spring 2014

  1. A novel about Daylily and Foxbrush? O_o I never expected anything like this. Sounds cool, though. And I'm in love with that cover; I think it's definitely my favorite of the Goldstone Wood covers.

  5. SQUEEEEE!!!

This is gorgeous! Absolutely, breathtakingly stunning! Daylily is so beautiful, yet so mysterious and...and... I have to stop here. If I say anything more, I might hyperventilate and die. And then I wouldn't get to read this. :( Congratulations, Anne Elisabeth! I think this might be my very favorite of your amazing covers. :)

  12. It is lovely! It fits so well with the others. I give it two thumbs up! My favorite cover is either Moonblood or Dragonwitch! Is Shadow Hand the last book in the series?

  13. I absolutely love the new cover! I can't pick a favorite because they're all gorgeous! So excited!

  14. Thank you, everyone!!!

@Emma: No, this isn't the last book. The plan is for many, many, many more Goldstone Wood books in the future! I'll actually be doing another cover reveal in just a few months, even. :)

  15. P.S. Eanrin and Imraldera will DEFINITELY be in this one! :)

    ReplyDelete
  16. Am I the only one who sees the circle theme on the cover? ;)

    ReplyDelete
  17. They are all so wonderful it's hard to pick just one. But I really like the look of the new book. However I can still see the delight of my grand daughters face when she got the very first one.

  18. akehlriuhawliu! It's SOOOOO pretty! I love it!!!

  19. Wow. I would have to say that it is a tie between Shadow Hand and Starflower.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Christa - Nope; I saw it as well! I love the way this one slightly mimics the dragon's eye on the cover of "Heartless." I don't know that it was intentional, but it does tie the books together nicely.

Beautiful cover, as usual! I'm still very fond of "Veiled Rose," but "Shadow Hand" is wiggling up beside "Heartless".

  21. This cover is so beautiful! I love everything about it: the colors, her dress, her hair, the bird, everything! It's a perfect addition to the series!

    ReplyDelete
  22. This cover is my favourite of the series, and that the book features Day Lily, Foxbrush, and a whole bunch of other favourites makes me so excited for the Spring! :D

    ReplyDelete
  23. I am a relatively new imp, but I've already read Heartless, Veiled Rose, Moonblood, and Starflower. I can barely wait for Dragonwitch to come out! And now the cover reveal for Shadow Hand! I can't wait!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  24. It's so hard to pick a favorite cover. Shadow Hand is beautiful and I can't wait to see what happens with all these beloved characters. Heartless remains my favorite, I think. But it's a tie between Starflower and Shadow Hand. I'm so glad I have Dragonwitch to look forward too, because spring 2014 won't come soon enough. :-)

  25. Congratulations, Mrs. Stengl. I'm thrilled for you and so excited that we'll learn more about both Daylily and Foxbrush. Always figured he maybe had a hero's spirit beneath all that priggishness. And, a familiar fey parasite? Who, oh who can it be? Yet another villain/villainness that we can love to hate.

Thanks so much for using your God-given talents and for keeping us posted about your writing. God bless and have a wonderful weekend.

  26. Absolutely love your Shadow Hand character list page! So, so very glad that a certain fascinating character is coming back in this one. I have been yearning to find out what happened after that momentous rite of passage day. Thanks.

    ReplyDelete
  29. You're covers are so nice. I love fantasy books.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I used to think Heartless was my favorite cover, but this one undoubtedly tops all! I can't wait! Will Leo and Rosie enter into this book at all?

    ReplyDelete
  31. @Queen Ali: Lionheart is definitely in this book. As for Rosie . . . well, you might have to just wait and see . . . ;)

    ReplyDelete
  32. How am I supposed to choose a favorite cover??? This one is undoubtedly the most beautiful.

But I still love the Heartless cover, because it looks so real and represents the story so perfectly.

I love, love, love the sound of this story. And I can't wait to return to many beloved characters. Like Meredith, I too yearn to discover what happened to a certain young man in his rite of passage into manhood.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Just beautiful! I love all your book covers!

    ReplyDelete
  34. I'm really enjoying this series. Keep 'em coming! O:-)

  36. Heartless was, and probably is, still my favorite cover. I do think the Shadow Hand cover is absolutely gorgeous though, and would probably come to a very close second. I have a huge love of dragons though, and love how you incorporated the dragon into book one's cover. :)

    ReplyDelete
  37. Love the new cover and can't wait to read! Love this series!

    ReplyDelete
  38. Shadowhand is so so beautiful! I love it! Your bookcovers are all so intriguing, but I think Shadowhand is now one of my favorites! :)
I didn't realize Shadowhand was another book to Tales of Goldstone Wood until I saw the cover... so excited to read this and Dragonwitch!!! :)
And I love seeing all the book covers together... would be fun to win the mug.

    Thanks... Shantelle

  39. Oh... and I also particularly love the cover of Starflower also. But they're all so wonderful, it's hard to pick a definate favorite! :)

Thanks so much for letting me participate in the cover reveal!

    ReplyDelete
  53. Oh, WOW. That is the most gorgeous cover yet!!

I was expecting a pre-Heartless story about King Shadow Hand, but I've been really wanting to know the rest of Daylily, Foxbrush, and Lionheart's stories, so now I'm pleased as punch!

...And "A world invaded by a lethal fey parasite, a world that is hauntingly familiar"? Oh, boy. This is going to be awesome.
